Comedian Juampi González is going through one of the most active moments of his career and reviewed his current projects, from his new stand-up show "Oveja Negra" to his theater debut with the play "Regla de tres simples" alongside Nancy Gay. In an exclusive interview with the Argentine News Agency, he surprised by announcing two important new developments: his participation in a film to be released on Prime Video and his incorporation into a new streaming program with Fermin Bo and Belen Negri, better known as "La Chilena". During the interview, González explained that he is currently presenting his fourth solo show, in which he decided to return to the purest form of stand-up. "This year I premiered my fourth solo show called 'Oveja Negra', a show where I allow myself to go back a bit to the basics, to the roots, to doing just stand-up. I left the characters aside for a while," he explained. The comedian detailed that the show has a more introspective tone and arose from personal questions as he approached his 40s. "I turned 38, I'm close to 40, doubts, questions, reassessments start. If the spectator can reflect in addition to laughing, for me it's a positive balance," he detailed. Theater debut with Nancy Gay In parallel, González is also exploring another stage format and premiered the play "Regla de tres simples", where he shares the stage with comedian Nancy Gay. The actor acknowledged that it is a completely different challenge from his experience in stand-up: "It's a very big exercise for me to connect with someone on stage and be tied to a script. It's not improvising and seeing what happens. You have to say the precise phrase, with the correct intention". According to his explanation, the play lasts approximately one hour and twenty minutes and combines humor with contemporary situations: "Nancy and I have a very similar code because we are both stand-up comedians. Sometimes we are tempted to insert jokes and the director tells us: 'We are in a scripted play'". His participation in a film alongside Huevo Müller One of the most outstanding announcements of the interview was his film debut and he confirmed that he has been called to participate in a family comedy that will arrive on platforms. "I was invited to participate in the filming of a movie that will appear on Prime. I don't have the answers, but at least I bring the questions to the stage so that we can ask them among ourselves," he stated. The show addresses everyday topics that resonate with the public, such as couple relationships, singleness, or the social pressure surrounding motherhood and fatherhood. "I talk about being single, without children, about the concept of pets, about relationships. I like to make people a little uncomfortable. It's a special format that is going to air at night, instead of in the afternoon". According to details, the program will return with a new schedule due to the agenda of its members, who also participate in other digital projects. The official announcement of the project will be made during an event linked to Lollapalooza, where they will present the new cycle. Finally, between stand-up, theater, streaming, and his first cinematic experience, Juampi González showed his gratitude for the professional moment he is going through: "I am very happy with everything. It films in April."
